1996-01-04ELEMENTARY FACILITIES BUILDING COMMISSION MINUTES
The Elementary Facilities Building Commission met on Thursday, January 4,
1996 at 7:00 p.m. at the Briscoe Middle School. Present were John Drislane,
Nancy Levin, Mike Lauranzano, Tom Scully, Rod Maxner and Judy Mulligan.
The minutes of the December 28, 1995 meeting were distributed and a motion
was made by John Drislane and seconded by Nancy Levin that they be
accepted and approved. Judy Mulligan had contacted references for the
architectural firms that had been interviewed and recited the information she
received from various school departments. At 7:30 p.m. the meeting moved
from the School Committee room to the Curriculum room to make way for
the Demographics Committee. Tom Scully left the Building Commission
meeting to join the Demographics Committee. After much discussion a
motion was made by Mike Lauranzano to recommend Mount Vernon
Group. John Drislane made a motion to recommend Earl Flansburgh &
Assoc. Nancy Levin seconded the motion. Chairman Mike Lauranzano
recommended that the commission make an appointment with Earl
Flansburgh & Assoc, for 6:00 p.m. on Monday, January 11, 1996 to begin
negotiating a contract It was decided that Judy Mulligan would call the
Mayor, Flansburgh and the other firms to inform them of the decision of the
Commission.
