1996-01-11ELEMENTARY FACILITIES BUILDING COMMISSION MINUTES
The Elementary Facilities Building Commission met on Thursday, January
11, 1996 at 6:00 p.m. at the Briscoe Middle School. Present were Nancy Levin,
Mike Lauranzano, John Drislane, Tom Scully, Judy Mulligan, Mayor Scanion
and Earl Flansburgh. Mr. Flansburgh passed out copies of the standard AIA
contract for everyone present to examine. At 6:15 City Solicitor Marshall
Handly and architect David Soleau of Flansburgh & Associates joined the
meeting. Earl Flansburgh and David Soleau discussed different elements of
the contract. At 6:30 p.m. Mayor ScanIon left due to another engagement.
There was much discussion regarding how the firm arrived at the proposed
fee and what items would be included in basic services and additional
services. It was agreed that the Commission would meet on Tuesday, January
16, 1996 at 6:00 p.m. to further discuss the project. A meeting was also
scheduled for Monday, January 22, 1996 at 8:00 a.m. at the Briscoe Middle
School to continue negotiations with the firm of Earl Flansburgh &
Associates. Copies of the minutes of the last meeting were handed out. John
Drislane motioned and Nancy Levin seconded that they be accepted and
approved. The meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
