1996-02-12ELEMENTARY FACILITIES BUILDING. COMMISSION
The Elementary Facilities Building Commission met on Monday, February
12, 1996 at 12:00 noon in the Briscoe Middle School. Present were Mike
Lauranzano, John Drislane, Nancy Levin, Tom Scully, Mayor ScanIon,
Superintendent Chase, Rod Maxner, Judy Mulligan and Earl Flansburgh,
Jeanne Kuespert, and David Soleau of Earl Flansburgh & Associates. Judy
Mulligan passed out the minutes of the following meetings: January 16 -
Executive Session, January 22, January 29, February 1, and February 5. A
motion was made by Mike Lauranzano and seconded by John Drislane to
accept and approve the minutes. There was a discussion about the cost of the
project. Marshall Handly arrived at 12:25 p.m. Mayor ScanIon discussed
eliminating some additional space in other schools to justify the increase at
the new school. Ear[ Flansburgh will bring renovation numbers to the next
meeting for the commission to discuss and prioritize. Mayor ScanIon left at
12:55 p.m. and Superintendent Chase left at 1:10 p.m. The architects displayed
preliminary schematic drawings of the six schools. There were questions and
comments about each design. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday,
February 20, 1996 at 2:00 p.m. The meeting adiourned at 2:05 p.m.
