1885-04-27April 27, 1885 School Committee met. Present Messrs. Baker, Tuck, Cole, Moulton, Hinkley, Day and Griffin. A motion to abolish all public examination except of the High and Grammar schools was lost. Voted that the salary of Caleb R. Bill be increased ten dollars a month until July next and that the town shall not be liable for any of his expense incurred while employed as music teacher. Voted that the pay of the [illegible] [Illegible] be at the vote of fifteen [illegible] month. Voted that James T Elan [illegible] Voted that Eben H. Moulton be employed to take the census of the school children. Voted to adjourn till Friday evening next. Wm. H. Lovett, Secretary
