1885-04-20April 20, 1885 The [illegible] Boards of Selectmen and School Committee met at eight o’clock P.M. [illegible] present, Mssrs. Baker, Foster, Cressy [illegible] [illegible] present Mssrs. Baker [illegible] [illegible] Giddings and Boyden. [illegible] [Page 3] The School Committee voted that the resignation of Dr. Oscar F. Swasey be accepted. Mr. John I. Baker was chosen chairman and Wm. H. Lovett, clerk of the meeting. Whole number of persons entitled to vote, nine. A veto was taken by ballot for a member of the School Committee to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Dr. Oscar F. Swasey and Dudley N. Griffin having received five votes which is a majority of all the votes entitled to be cast at this election, was elected a member of the School Committee. Attest Wm. H. Lovett, Clerk
