A Special Meeting of the Beverly School Committde was held on Monday, October 1,
2001 at the Briscoe Middle School, Beverly, MA.
Members Present:
Ms. Bell, Ms. Brusil, Mr. Cahill, Mr. McHugh,
Ms. Norris, Ms. Coburn
Members Absent: Mayor Scanlon
President Cahill called the meeting to order at 7:28 PM.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Committee members and attending citizens said the Pledge of Allegiance.
SUPERINTENDENT'S CONTRACT
Mr. Cahill stated that the purpose of this meeting is to consider changes, to the
Superintendent's contract, which must be done each year by October 1st.
The following changes are proposed:
· increase Dr. Lupini's rate of pay from the current $112,000 per year to
$120,000 per year effective July 1, 2001.
· add an additional 12 months to Dr. Lupini's current contract which is
scheduled to end on June 30, 2004, so that it will be in effect through
June 30, 2005.
A roll call vote resulted in the following, with Mayor Scanlon voting by proxy (Mrs.
Norris).
YES: Mayor Scanlon, Ms. Bell, Ms. Brusil, Ms. Coburn,
Ms. Norris, Mr. Cahill
NO: Mr. McHugh
The motion passed with a 6-1 vote.
The Special Meeting was adjourned at 7:35PM.
