January 4, 1999
A special meeting of the Beverly School Committee was held on Monday,
January 4, 1999 in the School Committee Room, Briscoe Middle School,
Beverly, MA for the purpose of organizing the 1999 School Committee.
Members Present: Mr. Bjork, Mrs. Brusil, Mr. Cahill, Mrs. Frutiger,
Mr. McHugh, Mayor ScanIon and Mrs. Goodenough.
Members Absent: None
Also in Attendance: William Lupini, Superintendent of Schools,
Judy DeLucia, Assistant Superintendent,
Keith Manville, Assistant Superintendent, and
Judy Mulligan, School Business Manager.
President Linda Goodenough called the meeting to order at 6:42 PM.
Election of Officers For 1999
Mrs. Goodenough declared nominations open for the office of President
Mr. Bjork nominated Mr. Cahill. Nomination seconded.
There being no further nominations, Mrs. Goodenough declared nominations closed.
A roll call vote was requested, which resulted in the following:
YES: Mr. Bjork, Mrs. Brusil, Mr. Cahill, Mrs. Frutiger,
Mr. McHugh, Mayor Scaulon and Mrs. Goodenough.
NO: None
The vote was unanimous. Mr. Cahill was declared elected President
Mrs. Goodenough passed the gavel to the newly elected president.
Mr. Cahill thanked members for their support and made brief comments.
President Cahill declared nominations open for the office of Vice-President.
Mr. Bjork nominated Mrs. Goodenough. Nomination seconded.
It was moved by Mr. McHugh and seconded that nominations be closed.
So voted.
A roll call vote was requested which resulted in the following:
YES: Mr. Bjork, Mrs. Brusil, Mrs. Frutiger, Mrs. Goodenough,
Mr. McHugh, Mayor Scanlon and Mr. Cahill.

The vote was unanimous and Mrs. Goodenough was declared elected Vice President.
It was moved by Mr. McHugh and seconded to adjourn. So voted.
The meeting adjourned at 6:46 PM.
