A special meeting of the Beverly School Committee was held on Thursday,
January 9, 1997 in the School Committee Room, Briscoe Middle School,
Beverly, MA.
Members Present: Mr. Bjork, Mrs. Frutiger, Mrs. Gillespie, Mrs. Krueger,
Ms. Levin, Mr. McHugh, Mayor ScanIon, and
Mrs. Goodenough.
Members Absent: Mrs. Seamans
Also in Attendance: Keith Manville, Acting Superintendent, and
Don Young, City Finance Director.
Mrs. Goodenough called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
· It was moved by Mr. Bjork and seconded that the Beverly School Committee
transfer one million dollars from the employee benefits and Honeywell lines to
a new line (in the budget) for the acquisition of land for a new elementary
school, as recommended by Mayor ScanIon.
A roll call vote was requested, which resulted in the following:
YES: Mrs. Gillespie, Mrs. Krueger, Ms. Levin, Mr. McHugh,
Mayor ScanIon, Mr. Bjork, Mrs. Frutiger and Mrs. Goodenough.
NO: None
Unanimously voted.
° It was moved by Mr. Bjork and seconded to adjourn.
A roll call vote was requested, which resulted in a unanimous affirmative vote.
The meeting adjourned at 7:10 PM.
