MINUTES - BEVERLY LICENSE BOARD - AUGUST 6, 1998
Meeting called to order at 6:05 p.m.
Members Cook and Heller present.
Mr. Cook introduced the Board.
1. Transfer of license from Piccolo Panni
Thomas Alexander, One
representing Siam Delight.
School Street, Beverly,
Mr. Alexander presented updated information to the Board.
Stated there is approximately 1500 sq ft of space which
was incorrect on the application. Federal ID #
submitted. Incorporation papers also submitted.
What his clients would like to do is transfer the license
from one family to another family. They are presently
operating a Thai restaurant in Salem. They have a good
track record. Siam Delight will be the first Thai food
in Beverly. Further the diversity of the City and will
be a welcome addition.
Will continue in the present establishment. Will use
some of the present fixtures. Food will be Thai. Hours
will be 11:30 - 3:00 for luncheon, 5:00-10:00 on
weekdays, 5:00-10:30 Friday and Saturday for dinner.
Sunday hours will be 4:00-10:00 p.m. They are familiar
with the laws and do a nice job.
Jimmy (age 48) will be managing. Has been managing in
Salem. He will now work in Beverly for 40 hours.
Mr. Cook - Will he be there full-time? Yes. Any
renovations? Very little. Anxious to open as soon as
possible. Date of incorporation? #9? July 24, 1998.
Brian (age 36) Nicky and Jimmy. Brian will be the
treasurer and will own 70%, Nicky will own 30%? You are
related? Yes. Will the license be pledged? Yes.

Clerk to send Attorney Alexander proper paper work to
pledge license. Director will be Mr. Grelish? Yes.
Heller - Will they continue to own the restaurant in
Salem? Yes, they will continue to own it.
Cook - Anyone present in favor of the application?
Anyone present opposed? No.
No.
Heller - Motion - that the application for a transfer of
license from Piccolo Panni to Siam Delight be approved.
Seconded by Mr. Cook. No discussion. Motion carried
2-0.
2. Application to pledge the license of John
Athanasoupolos dba Caboose Restaurant to National Bank of
Greece.
Attorney Nicholas Ambeliotis present representing Caboose
Restaurant. Are going to purchase the property known at
11-23 Enon Street and request approval to pledge license
to the bank.
Attorney Schultz present and submitted copy of Security
Agreement.
Heller - Motion - that the liquor license in the name of
John Athanasoupolos dba Caboose Restaurant be pledged to
the National Bank of Greece. Seconded by Mr. Cook. No
discussion. Motion carried 2-0.
3. Mr. Alexander approached the Board to ask if Siam
Delight could open the restaurant without their license.
To serve food only. Stated if it was ok with the Board
he would check with the ABCC. If it is okay, they will
remove liquor from the premises. Mr. Alexander will send
confirmation.
4. Timothy Murphy present to request a change in dba
from Timothy's to Goat Hill Grille. Mr. Cook - what is
projected opening date? Middle of September.
Heller - Motion - to approve the change of dba at 90
Rantoul Street to Goat Hill Grille subject to all paper
work being submitted. Seconded by Mr. Cook. Motion
carried 2-0.
5. One Day Licenses - Trustees of Reservations - for
August 22 and 28. Motion made and seconded to approve
the licenses. Motion carried 2-0.

Lt. Roccio present. Discussion re Haiku Haiku and the
fact that the License Board did not receive a copy of the
Police Report for underage drinking.
Lt. Roccio to send copy of report even though the point
is mute considering the license has been transferred,
He also mentioned a report re Press Box. He will send a
copy of report and will check to be sure that we receive
reports in the future.
Clerk to notify Lt. Roccio of meetings by sending a copy
of the posted notice.
Next meeting schedule for September 10.
