Meeting called to order at 6:00 p.m.
All members present.
Board introduced.
Mr. Ranta.
Mr. Kelley, Chairman, Mr. Heller and
1. Mr. Altshuler present representing Jeffrey Stern of
Fusion's. Mr. Stern also present.
Mr. Stern had been before the Board previously for a
transfer of stock, change in officers and directors and
change in manager for Fusion's Restaurant. There was a
problem with some of the paper work and with the DOR so
transfer never went through. The problem with DOR was an
issue with the former owner. Matter has now been cleared
up. We are here asking that Jeffrey Sternbe allowed to
continue to own and run the establishment.
Mr. Kelley - What was the problem with DOR? Employment
taxes not meals taxes. You live above the restaurant?
Yes, with wife and child.
Mr. Kelley asked if there were any questions.
Mr. Heller - You are leasing the premises? Yes.

Mr. Heller - Motion to approve the change in manager,
transfer of stock as it appears on form 983 and change in
officers and directors. Seconded by Mr. Ranta. Motion
carried 3-0.
2. Mr. Altshuler also representing Freddie's Inc. for a
change in manager, transfer of stock and change in
officers and directors. Maynard Foster also present. He
is going to be the new manager.
Stockholders are the three daughters of the DiStefano's.
They hold stock in equal shares. Mr. Foster is the
husband of one of the daughters. He has worked there for
30 years. He runs the restaurant with his brother-in-
law.

Mr. Heller - Is the property leased? No, it is owned.
Mr. Kelley - Were they always there? Mr. Foster - I was
on the paperwork as the Clerk. Mr. DiStefano was often
in the restaurant.
Mr. Kelley - Stock in the corporation was in the Trust?
Yes. The beneficiaries of the trust are the three
daughters.
Discussion followed.
Mr. Heller - Motion to approve the change of manager to
Maynard Foster and transfer of stock and change in
officers and directors as per 983. Seconded by Mr.
Ranta. Motion carried 3-0.
3. One day licenses -
Trustees of Reservations - Clerk to check on the
hours needed. Maximum for 1-day license is 5 hours.
Mr. Heller - Motion made to approve the license.
Seconded by Mr. Ranta. Motion carried 3-0.
4. Brew House - Discussion re Police Reports.
Lt. Roccio-They came in and filed a report on January 5.
Spoke with Lt. Alan Peterson. Lt. Roccio stated that at
the scene employees refused to supply information. They
assumed very adversary demeanor. He believed that is why
they came in to the station to file a report.
He also stated Officer Connolly is a certified EMT.
Connolly had trouble with the employees. The problem is
mostly from the second floor. He stated he was very
concerned about the occupancy. Reports that it was very
crowded.
Clerk instructed to invite the management of the Brew
House to appear before the License Board on February 4
and notifying them that the Board would conduct a hearing
based on the Police Reports and consider what action if
any should be taken. Copies of the Police Reports, etc.
should be included.
5. Communication received concerning requests for Keno
licenses from the Sports Page Pub and the Brew House
Cafe. Received and placed on file.

The next meeting of the Beverly License Board will be
held on February 4 at 6:00 p.m., Beverly Public Library.
Meeting adjourned at 6:50 p.m.
