2000-01-05City of Beverly, Massachusetts Public Meeting Minutes Board: Library Trustees Subcommittee: Date: January 25, 2000 7:00 P.M. Place: Beverly Public Library Board members present: Edward Brindle, Lindsay Diehi, Neil Olson, Joanne Panunzio, Helga Semico, and John Young Board members absent: Diane Costa, Kay Fanning, Kevin O'Reilly Others present: Thomas Scully, Anna Langstaff Recorder: Anna Langstaff John Young presided. Lindsay Diehi made the motion, seconded by Edward Brindle, to accept the minutes of the joint meeting of the Board of Library Trustees, Commissioners of Trust Funds, and Lynch Fund Trustees of November 23, 1999 as read. Public Presentation None Committee Reports Personnel: No report. Administration: No report. Finance: No report. Long Range Planning: No report. Report of the Library Director 1) Copies of the Library Director's report (on file with these minutes) were mailed to trustees. 2) Tom Scully distributed copies of library's annual report (on file with these minutes). 3) Farms Library: Fund raising continues. We have reached almost 50% of our goal. 4) Computer System: Changeover has been completed. There were some glitches. 5) Bookmobile: Body work and m-painting have been completed. There was a discussion of the age of the bookmobile, when it would need to be replaced, and how to fund a new bookmobile. 6) Children's Room Policy: Tom Scully distributed copies of the proposed Children's Room Use Policy (on file with these minutes). There was a discussion of public interact use. Neil Olson made the motion, seconded by Lindsay Diehl, to: accept the Children's Room Use Policy as written. Motion passed. 7) MBLC: Keith FieIs will be coming to the February board meeting to talk about MBLC's legislative agenda. Communications 1) Interact Letters: Neil Olson commented on letter to the newspaper in response to intemet article in the newspaper. 2) Legislative Breakfast: March 3, 2000 at Peabody Institute Library in Danvers. Unfinished Business None New Business 1) Committee Assignments: Assignments will be made at February meeting. Public Presentation None The next meeting of the Board will be Tuesday, February 22, 2000 at 7:00 P.M. at the Main Library. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:55 P.M.
