Present: Diane Costa, Neil Olson, Toby Shindler.
Also present: Nancy Bender, Thomas Scully, Sheila Glowacki.
Toby Shindiet presided.
The committee met to evaluate the performance of the Library Director. Mr. Scully submitted a
narrative outlining his accomplishments over the last three years. After a lengthy discussion Neil
Olson moved that the committee recommend to the full Board on the basis of the established job
description, the Direetor's responses to and the Personnel Committee's observations of the Director's
performance that the Director receive an "excellent to superior" rating for his job performance during
the contract period of July 1, 1986 through June 30, 1989. Diane Costa seconded the motion. Motion
passed.
The Director then announced that the Media Librarian had resigned and discussed his plan to
incorporate the media department into the Adult Services Department and hire an Assistant Adult
Services Librarian to replace the Media Services Librarian. Neil Olson moved to recommend that the
Board of Trustees request that the Board of Aldermen fill the position of Assistant Adult Services
Librarian. Motion passed.
Diane Costa moved that the meeting be adjourned. Motion passed.
The meeting adjourned at 8:40 PM.
