Margaret Goodwin presided.
Long Range Planning Committee met to review the action plan for FY2000 (on file with these
minutes) and how it will impact on next year's budget.
Impact on the budget: 1. Request additional funds for book budget.
2. Identify high priority items for binding.
3. Request staff development budget from City.
4. Increase in regular maintenance plan.
May have impact on budget: 1. Expand databases available on NOBLE's Web page.
2. Develop a capital maintenance plan.
Neil Olson made the motion, seconded by Diane Costa, to:
adopt the FY2000 action plan as discussed. Motion passed.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:55 P.M.

FY2000 ACTION PLAN
1) Continue to improve interlibrary loan with Beverly High School.
Measurement: Monitor increase/decrease in ILL requests.
Interview high school librarian.
2) Get all schools to join NMRLS
Measurement: Confirm membership status with NMRLS
3) Establish Bookraobile service at Abraham Edwards Elementary School.
Measurement: Done
4) Continue summer reading program.
Measurement: Confirm next year's participation with Superintendent of Schools.
5) Continue book talks, poetry contest, etc.
Measurement: Confirm scheduling with library department heads.
6) Develop informational meetings and publications for teachers.
Measurement: Confirm teaching training schedule with Superintendent of Schools.
Prepare informational package
7) Set up computer training classes for community members.
Measurement: Establish schedule for classes
Monitor community participation by recording attendance
8) Continue to provide community meeting space
Measurement: Keep records of use of library meeting rooms
9) Request additional funds for book budget.
Measurement: Trustees vote additional request as part of FY2000 budget
10) Identify collection areas needing acquisition or de-accessioning
Measurement: Determine subject areas for collection development or
de-accessioning at July staff meeting
11) Identify high priority items for binding.
Measurement: Assemble materials to be sent to bindcry.
12) Budget more funds for large print books.
Measurement: Library Director allocates more funds in FY2000 book budget
13) Expand databases available on NOBLE's Web page.
Measurement: monitor additions and deletions from NOBLE databases.
14) Request staff development budget from City
Measurement: Trustees vote additional request as part of FY2000 budget

Measurement: Monitor fund raising for Beverly Farms Renovation project.
Proceed with architectural planning as fund-raising allows.
