The administration committee met to discuss the library’s internet policy.
Tom Scully reported that the library’s internet policy is generally in compliance but that a few
sections should be tightened up. He distributed a draft copy of the revised public internet use
policy.
There was a discussion of the internet policy and internet usage at the Beverly Public Library. A
few changes to the draft were proposed: 1. In the first paragraph change “The Library does not
filter access to Internet sites or regularly monitor patron usage” to “The Library does not filter
access to Internet sites but may monitor patron usage”. 2. In the third paragraph change “We ask
that patrons using the Internet be sensitive about viewing...” to “Patrons should be sensitive about
viewing...” John Young made the motion, seconded by Joanne Panunzio, to:
propose the revised internet policy, as amended, to the board as a whole on
Tuesday, September 24, 2002. Motion passed.
A public hearing regarding the Library’s internet policy will be held on Tuesday, September 24,
2002 at 6:50 P.M.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:05 P.M.
