Present: Edward Brindle, Chair, Kay Fanning Margaret Goodwin, Neil Olson. Also present: Thomas
Scully, Anna Langstaff.
Thomas Scully handed out a proposed budget for FY 95/96 of $812,838.67 for the committee
to review. A general discussion followed.
The 9.03% increase reflects an increase in the book budget it order to meet the state minimum
standard, an increase in library supplies to process more books, and an increase in computer
maintenance to pay for new services. The new budgeting system allows for narrative descriptions in
the proposed budget. It was suggested that budget justification language should be included in -the
proposed budget and that a letter from the President of the Board of Trustees should accompany the
proposed budget.
The finance committee recommended to approve the proposed FY 95/96 budget of
$812,838.67 as submitted by Thomas Scully. The finance committee will present this budget at the
next full Board meeting on December 19, 1994.
