Present: Edward Brindle, Chair, Margaret DeSantis, Kay Fanning.
Also present were trustees: Nancy Bender, Diane Cosha, Margaret Goodwin, Neil Olson, and Helga
Senko. Also present: Thomas Scully, Anna Langstaff.
FY 94/95 budget needs to be submitted to City Hail on March 1, 1994.
Thomas Scully handed out a proposed budget for FY94/95 of $740,530.52 for the committee
to review. A discussion took place on how to calculate for a 53 week salary year.
Tom Scully also submitted an alternative budget of $933,199.90 based on what he felt was
the minimum operating budget for a library of this size and scope. This "wish list" budget,
accompanied by an informational package, could be presented to the Mayor and City Council. A
general discussion followed.
The finance committee recommended that the full Board approve the proposed budget of
$740,530.52 for FY 94/95. In addition, the finance committee agreed to present to the full Board an
alternative "wish list" budget of $933,199.90 based on a minimum operating budget for a library of
this size and scope with its recommendations that both budgets be submitted to the Mayor and City
Council.
Finance Committee meeting was adjourned at 7:20 PM.
