Present: Roger Morency, Chairman; Neil Olson, Dr. Edna McGlynn, Richard Buckley, Conhie

The budget of $325,000 for FY 1982/83 was presented. No books or materials were included,
as the mayor instructed. Mrs. Calish explained the decrease in the Personnel budget. The current
Bookmobile Librarian, at a Grade 16 salary level, could be moved to the Main Library to fill an urgent
staffing need. The Bookmobile position could then be filled at a Grade 11 level, thereby saving
$3,396.64. A discussion ensued on the salary level of the currein bookmobile librarian, as well as the
function of, and need for, a bookmobile. It was noted that approval for filling the bookmobile position
must be sought from the Mayor and Board of Aldermen.
Mr. Buckley and Mr. Morency questioned the liability of the Trustees for use of a private
vehicle to deliver books to the home bound. Mrs. Calish will speak to Al Ricci, the City Solicitor,
about the liability of the library and the Trustees, and ask for his reply in writing.
Mr. Morency made a motion to recommend the budget as presented to the Board. Mr. Olson
seconded. The motion passed unanimously. The meeting was adjourned.
