Costa, Katherine L. Fanning, Margaret C. Goodwin, and George Heller Board members absent: Edward E. Brindle, Margaret L. DeSantis, Neil B. Also present: Thomas Scully, Sheila Glowadd. Disposition of minutes of previous meeting: Diane Costa moved that the minutes of the previous meeting be accepted. Motion passed. Report of the Librarian: 1) Statistics for the high school reading books were distributed. 2) Concerning the move, we are shooting for the last weekend in September and be ready to open the Tuesday after Columbus Day. We have been advertising for volunteers and have over 100 signed up. Different Scout troops and clubs have signed up. County prisoners will help by moving the heavy items. The new shelving will not be here by then, so we will move with what we currently have. 3) The General Contractor has had literally no one on the job for the last 3 weeks. The only people who are really working are the painters. The electrical contractor and plumbing contractor went bankrupt two weeks ago. The General Contractor is not cooperating with the bonding company who is coming in and trying to do the work. 4) Two weeks ago when we had that heavy rainstom, we got water in that entire end of the building and soaked the carpet in the children's room, program room and Friend's Room. We got a carpet cleaning company to come in and save the carpet but at this point no one knows why the water backed into the building. Concerning Mrs. Conrad, she has agreed to all the furnishings except the chairs. The manufacturer could alter the size ofthe chairs. We have not heard from Mrs Conrad whether that is acceptable. So between the Conrad's and the Rotary, all the Children's Room furniture is paid for. Diane Costa moved that the meeting be adjourned. Motion passed. Next meeting will be Monday, September 20.
