Report of the Librarian: 1 ) The librarian spoke with Max Rubinstein a couple of weeks ago
concerning fund raising. Mr. Rubinstein was going to get back to us but he hasn't as yet. 2) Building
progress: We are getting down toward the end. Fourth floor is about ready for punch list, earpet is
down, walls are painted. Third floor is painted and hopefully, earpet is going down this week. They
are starting to paint and do finish woodwork on the second floor. The first floor is finished except
for the painting and earpet. Most of the lighling is in. All outside work is done except for a few punch
list items. Fire alarm, plumbing and electricity, heating and air conditioning are on. About only utility
not on is telephone. 3) We are working now on furniture bid. Furniture packet will be available
Wednesday afternoon. Bid opening is Thursday, July 8, at 7:30, aRer which we will have an idea of
what fumiture prices will be and an itemized breakdown by room. We have met with Mrs. Conrad
on several occasions and we have fmalized what we are going to buy for ehildren's furniture. At this
point, it looks as though we have the funds for the two circulation desks, reference desk, stacks and
children's room furniture. As far as the rest we will probably have to use the furniture that we have
now. 4) The contractor says he will turn the building over to us in July. 5) We are planning to move
with volunteers and hire movers for the heavy stuff hopefully in September. 6) Concerning the FY94
budget, $I00,000. was deleted from the eleetficai account and $50,000. was added to the book
account that we did not request.
Communications: A thank you note was received from Laurie Bready for the Savings Bond for her
son.
Unfinished business: 1) Diane Costa is in charge of the Sunshine Fund. If anyone knows of anyone
who is in the need of "sunshine" let her know. 2) The John Bates family is going to have a golf
tournament again this year to benefit the library on July 5.
Next meeting will be July 19 with the L.KP. meeting at 7:00 PM.
