Regular Meeting

Present: Edward Brindle, Diane Costa, Margaret DeSantis, Kay Fanning Margaret Goodwin, Helga
Senko and Toby Shindler.
Also present: Thomas Scully and Sheila Glowacki.
Diane Costa presided.
Disposition of the minutes of the previous meeting: A typographical error was noted. Kay Fanning
moved that the minmes be accepted as corrected. Motion passed.
Committee reports: Personnel: No report.
Administration: No report.
Finance: No report.
Long range planning: No report.
Report of the Librarian: 1) The full Board of Aldermen are meeting this evening to approve the city
budget. The Finance committee at their meeting last week had cut $5,000. more from the Library
budget from the custodial overtime account. 2) The Montserrat School of Art is interested in
occupying the 2nd and 3rd floor of the Hardie School while we are there and then take over the
whole building when we leave. 3) our architect is preparing a proposal for our use of the Hardie
School. We are planning closed stacks in the basement and our regular operations on the main floor.
4) Concerning the Dalton property, the city has reappraised it and says that it is now worth $185,000.
(The land itself is worth only $40,000. to $60,000) John Archer has not yet appeared before the
zoning board for a variance. 5) The Library's budget and circulation statistics were distributed. 6)
There will be a Building Commission meeting on July 1 at 7:30
The next meeting will be September 16, 1991.
The meeting adjourned at 7:30 PM to allow the trustees to attend the Alderman's meeting.
