Present: Rich~trd Buckley, Kay Fanning, Kathleen Henrichon, Kevin Murphy, Neil Olson, Susan Salt,
Toby Shindiet, Nancy White.
Also present: Helen Nadler, League of Women Voters. Esther Calish, Sheila Glowacki
Kathleen Henrichon presided.
Disposition of the minutes of the previous meeting: The word "satisfactorily" was deleted from the
Administration report. Toby Shindler moved that the minutes be approved as coffeeted. Motion
passed.
Committee Reports: Personnel: No report.
Administration: The roof is not progressing satisfactorily. There is still a laundry list of clean up and
finishing items that need to be done.
Finance: No report.
Long Range Planning: Nancy White reported that the Mayor had called a special meeting of the
Board of Aldermen and asked Mrs. Calish to come and support his request for library architectural
fees. The goal statement and statistics were presented. The members of the Board of Aldermen
seemed very supportive.
Librarian's Report: 1) Mrs. Calish distributed copies of the library's budget that had been presented
to the Aldermen by the Mayor and discussed the minor variations. The Trustees will be meeting with
the Finance Committee of the Board of Aldermen to review the budget on June 11.2) Building
repairs: Keyin Murphy moved to request from the Board of Aldermen $4500. to plaster the ceiling
of the Beverly Room. Motion passed. Kevin Murphy moved to have Mrs. Calish attempt to obtain
two estimates each for painting and electrical fixtures for the Beverly Room. Motion passed. Nancy
White moved to request of the Board of Aldermen $3000. to repair the front steps of the library.
Motion passed. Nancy White moved to request of the Board of Aldermen $3000. for the repair and
painting of the Bookmobile. Motion passed. Mrs. Calish reported that the repair work on the chimney
will be done by the end of the month. Kevin Murphy asked Mrs. Calish to call Mr. Mulligan about
fixing the concrete on the side of the driveway. 3) The Board of Aldermen voted to fill the Media
Services Librarian position. 4) Bids for the multiplexor will be open June 17, Telephone lines will be
installed Wednesday, June 12. Electrical lines will be installed in the next few weeks. 5) Shrubbery
has been placed along the ramp at the Farms. 6) The Babysitting course had 18 students signed up
and plans are being made to run the course again.
New Business: Richard BuckIcy moved to have the Director use Trust Funds and send an appropriate
git~ to Frances McCarthy's husband during his convalescence. Motion passed.
