The regular meeting was held at the Library on the above date. Present: Mrs. Conrad, presiding, Mr.
Toomey, Mr. Maeser, Dr. Murray, Miss StandIcy, Mrs. Eisenberg, Mr. Lovett and Mr. Ricci.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Reports of Department Heads were
placed on file.
For Administration: Mr. Toomey reported that the front door and Youth Room door had been
tightened, but work not completed. Also, that transfer of money to Maintenance had been approved
by Board of Aldermen.
Mrs. Conrad and Mr. Toomey are to open bids for furniture on December 23 at 12 noon.
Considerable attention was given to graphs showing circulation statistics. Further study will be made
at next meeting when more data will be presented.
VOTED: To pay expenses of a course in Young Adults' Services, which Mrs. Cook is taking at
Northeastern University, from Trust Funds.
VOTED: To close the Library at noon on December 24.
All the Trustees paid $3.00 dues to join the Massachusetts Library Trustees Association.
Mrs. Conrad appointed a Commission to study the By-Laws. Mr. Lovett, Chairman, Mrs. Eisenberg
and Mr. Maeser.
Mrs. Conrad spoke of recent library visits - particularly, the North End Branch in Boston and
Belmont.
It was announced that Mrs. Alan Cook would be on George Erwin's Dialogue program on Station
WMLO Friday, December 20.
