Present at the above meeting were Mrs. Conrad, presiding, Mr. Lovett, Mr. Maeser, Dr. Murray, Mr.
Toomey and Mr. Ricci.
Before the business meeting it was VOTED to close Sat. April 20, 9-12 to give the Staff a long week
end as was done at City Hall.
VOTED Records and Finance sheets read and approved.
For Administration VOTED to order a load of loam for the Farms Branch. Mrs. Conrad will attend
to this. Also suggested touching up the iron work on front steps and the paint in the reading rooms.
VOTED 2 weeks vacation for Mr. Green, Custodian who leaves for military service May 10 to be
absent for 2 years or less. Contact C. S. for a list of custodians.
Mrs. Conrad and Mr. Toomey agreed to meet May 26 at 9 A. M. to go over the building for any
necessary work or repairs.
VOTED to give Mrs. Anna Pesce $2.00 per hour as she is taken over for Mrs. White who has had
a serious operation.
A discussion was held as to the new member of the Staff--S72 was allowed on the budget. Dr. Fisher
of High School has one applicant that he has recommended, but she has no library background.
A discussion took place as to the parking lot. A suggestion was made to change to one hour parking.
A list of brochures and library pamphlets were presented to go along with the tercentenary of Beverly.
After discussion Mrs. Conrad asked Mr. Lovett and Mr. Bunker to make a further study.
The meeting adjourned at 5:15.
