Presem: Mrs. Conrad, Miss StandIcy, Mr. Tooracy
VOTED to request $12,000 for page money to take care of nine o'clock closing. Also requested was
a necessary $2,325.96 for salary of part time custodian for Farms Branch. The Maintenance Budget
was VOTED and placed on file. The Salary Budget VOTED and is set by the Yarger Survey. The
increase for pages is necessary because of the hourly rate of $ 1 .00 to begin and go to $1.75.
Increase needed for Lighting-9 o'cloek closing
Increase needed Care of Grounds $300 put Founds in order.
Increase Printing for Tercentenary celebration.

October 19, 1967 4 P.M.. REGULAR MEETING
In attendance were Mrs. Conrad, presiding, Miss Standley, Mr. Toomey and Dr. Murray.
The records were approved as read. Reports accepted and placed on file.
Finance sheets were studied. VOTED to accept the Budget as recommended by the Budget
Committee except for salaries--set by Yarger Survey.
Mr. Tooracy reported for Admini~cfxation--Materials for the installation of a new switch board will
be delivered soon. Work to start soon. He will also attend to the sanding of the letten each side of
front door. As there was enough money in Bookmobile repairs it was decided to have the mobile
painted as it has been out in the open for a year and has rested in many places.
A letter was read from Dr. Shively Community College concerning the parking problem. He feels It
now is a problem for the Police Dept. He will endeavor to try to eliminate the matter as much as
possible. Long discussion was held.
Discussion took place as to the replacement of Mr. Frank Hyde. After a letter was read from Mr. E.
Leslie Bunker stating it would be an honor to have his name considered, Mr. Toomey will consult
with the Mayor.
A long discussion was held as to the Tercentenary Celebration to be held in 1968. Suggestions: Art
exhibit; Punch Party; Beverly Authors and books on display, poss~ly during June or July. Mr. Lovett
to have charge of this problem, with all assisting.

RESOLUTIONS - FRANK P. HYDE
WHEREAS the passing ofFrank P. Hyde on September 20, 1967, removed from our ranks our long
time and highly respected co-worker as a Trustee of the Beverly Public Library; and
WHEREAS he had served faithfifty and effectively in that capacity since his appointment in 1959;
and
WHEREAS his background of experience in community i, his keen perception, and his accurate
judgments, made him an exceptionally valuable of this group
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED:
THAT we hereby record our deep sense of personal loss and extend our most sincere sympathy to
the members of his family; and
THAT we hereby testify to the everlasting qualities of his service to the library; and
THAT as a living memorial to his honored memory we dedicate ourselves to serve, to the best of our
abilities the interests of the Library which he so ably espoused; and
THAT a copy of these resolutions be spread upon the records of the Library, and a copy be sent to
the members of his family.
