In attendance at the above meeting were Mrs. Conrad, presiding, Mr. Maeser, Mr. Ricci, Mr. Lovett
and Mr. Tooracy.
Read by Mrs. Conrad was a letter from State Aid stating that the Library, in order to receive $9,027
in 1968 must start the new hours of opening Sept. 11, 1967. 63 hours, which was decided at a
previous meeting.
VOTED to approve Records of the previous meeting.
VOTED aRer study to accept the Finance Sheets.
For Admini~ration, Mr. Toomey reported that work should start on the walls; one side canvass and
one side paimed. $500 was allowed in Other Outlays. Also he will attend to shading the skylights with
altminum paint, also have the front door varnished--work to be done by the City Men.
VOTED to accept Circulation and Librarian Reports.
VOTED to close July 3 to give the Staffa long week end.
Discussion was held as to the new Collective Bargaining Law that has gone into existence in some
Mass. Libraries. Further study must be made and the majority must agree to join. Mrs. Conrad
appointed Mr. Rieci and Mr. Lovett to keep informed. Mrs. Gibbs was asked to attend the North
Shore Library Meeting to be held June 1 at the Division of public Libraries, 648 Beacon St. to seek
more information and to ask questions.
Mrs. Conrad read a letter from Mrs. William Hogan, 4 Exeter Road, concerning many complaints she
has with the Children's books, furniture, adult books and other factors that she dislikes. Mrs. Conrad
and the Librarian will meet with her Wedneay, May 3 1 at 10 A.M.
Next meeting was set for Thursday, June 15th.
