The regular meeting was held at the Library on the above date. Present were Mrs. Conrad,
presiding; Mr. Lovett, Mr. Maeser, Mr. Tappan.
The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
Committee Reports called for and Financial Statements studied.

Young Adult position filled
Farms Custodian still open due to Civil Service mixup.
Leak in roof discussed. Librarian to cheek on Mr. Fowler's references and cheek on other
contractors. Delays in carpentry work noted. Xerox Machine to arrive end of next week.
Record player delivered and in use.
Outside funding proposals drafted.
VOTED. To approve form and policy on use of auditorium
New Business
Mrs. Steven's sickness brought to the attention of the board.
Librarian raised Miss Scotti's question regarding the need for her to continue with classes to
qualify her for permanent status. Board reiterated its feeling that the position called for further
training and education.
Ideas on the formation of a Friends of the Library group were discussed.
Pre-holiday closure time set for this fall:
VOTED: Library will close at 6 P.M. the day before Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day.
Possibility of 1-5 P.M. Sund~ opening discussed.
Policy on reimbursement for classes taken by the staff which will benefit the library was
discussed. To be raised again at the November meeting.
Mrs. Conrad read the letter written by the Librarian to the Executive Director, Board of
Regional Community Colleges, and a note from Miss StandIcy.
Mrs. Beatrice Finney from the League of Women Voters was present.
