BOARD OF HEALTH - MONTHLY MEETING -- September 9, 1968
Meeting called to order at 6:00 p. m. Members present were A. J. Callahan, Jr. and Angelo R. Massa.
Also attending were Thomas H. Scanlan, Leo Panunzio, Robert Russo, Richard Montoni and Joseph
W. Walsh, Jr.
OLD BUSINESS
16 Bennett Street (see minutes August 1968)
The Board of Health discussed the problems at 16 Bennett Street with Mr. Montoni and gave him
the file and the reports from the three city inspectors.
Mr. Montoni stated that in his opinion the building should be condemned.
Mr. Scanlan called Mrs. Sawyer, owner of the property, and informed her that the Board of Health
would order the house placarded if not vacated within fifteen days. The Board ordered Mr. Walsh
to placard the house.
Mr. Soucey called the Board and spoke in regard to a conversation between himself and Mrs. Sawyer.
The Board tabled further discussion of this matter until the September board meeting.
Nurse's Request
The Board tabled any discussion on this item until it can be reviewed by the full Board.
Kelleher's Pond
The Board discussed the problems at Kelleher Pond and were informed that the levels have been
lower.
Badges
The Board was informed that I. D. Cards, and Badges are on order and being processed.
West Lynn Creamery
The Board received a report that West Lynn Creamery is no longer a problem. The Board is satisfied
with the counts and thanks for a job "well done" go to Leo Panunzio.
Code Enfomement Officer
The Board of Health reviewed Mr. Montoni's work, his processing of operations, reviewed
complaints with examples cited. Angelo Massa reported that a house on Simon Street, in his opinion
had a problem with the roof, rear porch. Mr. Montoni to check on matter.
NEW BUSINESS
Monthly Reports
The monthly reports of the various staff members were accepted as read.
Sub-divisions
The Board accepted two sub-divisions: Abdo's and Manzi's at Raymond Farms.
Swimming Pools
Mr. Callahan questioned provisions for checking public swimming pools. Mr. Walsh told him of
Article VI of the Massachusetts Sanitary Code and the new swimming pool test kit obtained by the
department.
Meeting adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
