Thursday, June 21, 1973 4 P.M.
The regular meeting was held at the Library on the above date. Present were Mrs. Conrad,
presiding, Mr. Maeser, Mrs. Isenberg, Mr. Lovett, Miss Standley, and Mr. Tappan.
The minutes of the last meeting read and approved.
Administration:
Painting, with the exception of the auditorium, completed at the Farms Branch. City painters
will return in the fall or winter.
Plumbing problem at the Farms Branch solved. Pipes cleared to the street.
Rug for Adult Reading Room ordered from Schumacher and Magarian will lay same during
summer months.
Rossi contacted to estimate work to be done on brick work at front and, also, leading to side
exit from Dane Street. (Because of limited money for repairs only part will be done).
It was noted that parking meters were not yet installed in front of the Library. (Have
contacted Police Dept. and State approval has not yet come through).
Mr. Tappan reported on meeting with Robert Shaw engineer who had made his first visit to
service zone heating.
Financial sheets studied. Reports of Heads of Departments read.
Personnel Committee:
VOTED: Not to appoint Miss Scotti to permanent status. Her appointment will be reviewed
in December, at which time she will have had the opportunity to fill her
commitment for the position by further courses. If courses are not taken, a
demotion will be considered to a position of lesser educational requirement.
Correspondence:
Letter of resignation from Mrs. Claire Bancroft, Young Adults Librarian received.
VOTED: To accept with regret. Mr. Lovett, Chairman of the Personnel Committee
will contact the Division of Library Extension to advertise the position. Applications
will be accepted until September 1.
Gi~s of books received from Miss Helen Marster, The Women's Republican Club of Beverly, and the
Beverly Improvement Society. Contribution to the Memorial Fund in memory of Miss Helen Johnson
from Mr. & Mrs. Conrad Mayo.
