The regular meeting was held at the Library on the above date. Present were Mrs. Conrad,
presiding, Mr. Maeser, Miss StandIcy, Mr. Cole, Mr. Lovett, Mrs. Risley, Mrs. Isenberg and Mr.
Tappan.
Minutes of the last meeting read and approved.
Executive session called.
VOTED: To extend Mrs. Baneroft's provisional appointment to meeting in June.

VOTED: To require a Doctor's Certificate when Miss Scotti is absent from work.
The Board organized.
VOTED: Mrs. Conrad, President, and Mrs. Risley, Secretary.
Administration:
VOTED: Mr. Maeser to go ahead with alarm system.
No decision was made regarding public telephone.
VOTED: To request meters for the parking lot. (Letter to Acting Mayor and copies
to Traffic Division and the Finance and Property Committee. 24 minutes at front of
Library, 1 hour in lot, and all-night parking to be discontinued).
Financial sheets presented.
Report of North Shore Library meeting in Wakefield given. Particular emphasis was on unions,
Sunday openings and vandalism.
Communications:
Letter from Consumer's Council re: New England Telephone Company problem has been
referred to Insurance Division.
Letter from the Bureau of Library Extension. Beverly has been certified for a 1972 State grant
of $14,380.50.
Report of meeting with Property & Finance Committee (Mr. Fortunato and Mr. Fowler).
Budget is to be reduced by $35,000 for architectural planning.
Mr. Fortunato and other interested aldermen will tour the building on Wednesday March 22, Mrs.
Conrad, Miss Standley, Mr. Maeser and Mr. Tappan will also be present.
