1971-10-21 City of Beverly, Massachusetts Public Meeting Minutes Board: Library Trustees Subcommittee: Date: 10/21/1971 Place: Beverly Public Library Board members present: Louisa V. Conrad, Robert W. Lovett, Mieth Maeser, Dr. Cornelius Murray, Albert J. Ricci, and Carolyn F. Standley Board members absent: Howard W. Cole, Diane M. Isenberg, and Barbara D. Risley Others present: Recorder: Florence A. Luther Thursday, October 21, 1971 4 P.M. The regular meeting was held at the Library on the above date. Present were Mrs. Conrad, presiding, Mr. Ricci, Miss StandIcy, Mr. Maeser, Dr. Murray and Mr. Lovett. Minutes of the last meeting read and approved. Librarian reported that 35 had attended the film program (Buster Keaton and W. C. Fields). VOTED: To omit reports of Department Heads to allow time for final study and analysis of the League of Women Voters' report. Communications: Letter of resignation from Mrs. Adelaide McGonill. VOTED: To accept same, with regret, as of October 21, 1971. Letter from Municipal Credit Union for use of Yellow Room on Tuesday, November 16, at 7 P.M. for their Annual Meeting. So voted. Old Business: VOTED: That Mrs. Conrad and Mrs. Luther write the League of Women Voters thanking them for their interest and in-depth study, and informing them that steps are being taken to carry out some of their recommendations. The request from Mr. Kelley and the Centerville Improvement Society, Inc. was considered. VOTED: That Mr. Kelley and two or three from the Centerville Improvement Society Inc. be invited to the Library to spell out their plans and for discussion of same. Time set for Wednesday, November 10, at 4 P.M. Miss Scotti withdrew her leave of absence request. New Business: Budget accepted as presented. The question of student deposit was discussed and since the $10. 00 deposit is refundable, the Board felt the ruling should be continued. Since it is again time to update the By-Laws, Mrs. Conrad appoimed the following Committees Mr. Ricci Chairman Mr. Lovett Miss Standley Mrs. Risley. The Committee will report at the January meeting.
