Thursday, June 24, 1971 4 P.M.
The regular meeting was held at the Library on the above date. Present were Mrs. Conrad,
presiding, Mr. Ricci, Miss StandIcy, Mr. Maeser, Mr. Lovett, Mrs. Risley and Mrs. Isenberg
Minutes of the last meeting and reports of Department Heads were omitted to allow time for
the League of Women Voters' report.
Administration:
Mr. Maeser reported on plans for painting windows, the purchase of 10 screens for reading
room windows, and the application of Formica to existing tables in Youth Room.
Steps at entrance to Farms Branch are to be repaired. There was considerable discussion
about temporary repairing at this time. Mr. Maeser and Mrs. Conrad are to consult
contractors.
The League of Women Voters' report on purpose and function of Library was read by Mrs. Albert
Klubock, and Mrs. Alvan Schwartz. The report was placed in the records and a copy made for each
Trustee. Both the staff and Trustees will give it further study.
It was reported no serious damage or loss in recent burglary.
Police had found back door to Farms Library unlocked.
New Business:
Estimates for air conditioning top floor of main building are to be obtained before budget
preparation for 1972.
VOTED that any child, regardless of age, be issued a card provided parent makes a request
and will take responsibility.
VOTED to dose Library on Friday at 6 P.M. before the Fourth of July weekend and before
Labor Day weekend.
Next meeting will be Thursday, September 16.
