1971-05-20 City of Beverly, Massachusetts Public Meeting Minutes Board: Library Trustees Subcommittee: Date: 05/20/1971 Place: Beverly Public Library Board members present: Louisa V. Conrad, Robert W. Lovett, Mieth Maeser, Dr. Cornelius J. Murray, Albert J. Ricci, and Carolyn F. Standley Board members absent: Howard W. Cole, Diane M. Isenberg, and Barbara D. Risley Others present: Recorder: Florence A. Luther Thursday, May 20, 1971 4 P.M. The regular meeting was held at the Library on the above date. Present were Mrs. Conrad, presiding Mr. Ricci, Miss StandIcy, Mr. Maeser, Mr. Lovett and Mrs. Risley. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Administration: Estimates for painting windows and entrance to Library considered. VOTED: Mr. William Pinciaro to do work. Screens need replacing in both buildings. Voted that partial replacement be started. Mr. Maeser contacting carpenter. VOTED: A letter be sent to Mr. Mitchell expressing appreciation of the co-operation of Public Works Department for clearing brush from parking lot. Custodians are to plant grass seed in the area. Financiais sheets and circulation graphs studied. Reports of Department Heads read. Old Business: Wednesday, May 12, The League of Women Voters toured the Library. Mrs. Conrad, Mr. Maeser and Miss Standley were introduced to the group by Mrs. Schwartz. Mrs. Honnold, Miss Munroe, Mrs. Dunklee, Mrs. Cook and Miss Carleton spoke briefly of services from various departments. The findings of the survey were reported at the League of Women Voters meeting, May 20. New Business: Miss Munroe authorized to purchase three 16ram films. D. A. R. given permission to use Yellow Room on Monday, May 24 at 11 A.M. Registration of voters to be held in Farms auditorium on Tuesday, October 12 from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Observing at the meeting were Mrs. Alvan Schwartz and Mrs. Mayo Johnson. Meeting adjoumed at 5 P.M. Florence A. Luther Clerk
