Wednesday, May 12, 1971 7:30 P.M.
A Special Meeting of the Board of Trustees was held at the Library on the above date. Present
were Mrs. Conrad, presiding, Mr. Maeser, Mr. Lovett, Dr. Murray, Miss Standley, Mrs. Isenberg,
Mr. Cole and Mrs. Risley.
Mrs. Conrad and Mr. Maeser reported for the Commission that a letter stating the facts of the
Shaffer report is being sent to the Finance and Property Committee for the purpose of moving the
request for $20,000 for architeet's fee out of Committee. A copy of the letter will be sent to the
Mayor and City Solicitor.
Mr. Shaffer's report was reviewed. With minor exceptions to the sketch and the space
locations the report was approved.
The importance of building up a public relations program was stressed.
Regarding Mrs. McGorrilrs absence from work, it was
VOTED: The Librarian be instructed to notify Mrs. MeGorrill that her leave will be
extended no later than June 1, 1971, with the understanding that if she returns
to work prior to that date, the condition of further employment will be left
with the Librarian and the Chairman of the Board.
