Thursday, January 21, 1971 4 P.M.
The regular meeting was held at the Library on the above date. Present were Mrs. Conrad, presiding,
Mr. Ricei, Miss StandIcy, Mr. Maeser, Dr. Murray, Mr. Lovett, Mrs. Risley and Mrs. Isenberg.
Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
Administration:
Renovations to the Children's Room, including paint, plaster and electrical work completed.
Mr. Maeser and Mr. Ricci authorized to consider bid and work to be done in adult reading
room.
When work is completed. electrical service in both rooms will be up dated to the extent that
molding lighting can easily be installed at a later date.
Public Works is to be notified early in spring to paint grill work for both buildings.
Finances;
Librarian reported$2.29 in Maintenance account returned to the city, from Salaries $1,185.29
returned. $5,400 in 'Other Outlays and $26.62 in Trust held over for 1971.
Reports:
Annual Report was presented.
First report of the Public Library Children's Building Commission read by Mrs. Conrad. The
report requested $20,000 to engage an architect and so that he may make preliminary
drawings.
Staff voted against joining the City union.
New Business:
Librarian instructed to write Commissioner of Public Works for clarification of Public Works
contract providing rain wear for custodians.
Mrs. Isenberg requested Library consider a book deposit station. Librarian instructed to price
Reported that Mrs. McGorrill had used all sick leave and would request a leave of absence.
February meeting to be held on the 251h.
Communications:
Thank you note from Mrs. Inez Murray for flowers received while hospitalized.
Friendly Garden Club granted use of Yellow Room on April 27.
Farms Improvement Society will use the Farms auditorium on Feb. 11. West Beach
Corporation will use Farms auditorium in February.
