Thursday Dec. 16, 1965 4 P.M.
The regular meeting of the Trustees was held at the Library on the above date. In attendance were
Mrs. Conrad, presiding, Mr. Doherty, Mr. Pierce, Dr. Murray and Mr. Toomey. (Mr. Hyde still ill)
Miss Standley was not present because of the untimely death, today of Miss Anitra Kline.)
Resolutions were read for Miss Kline, signed, sent to her mother, Mrs. George Kline and placed upon
the records.
The records of the previous meeting were read and approved and the Finance sheets were studied and
accepted, as were all reports of the Librarian and Department Heads.
Discussion was held as to the Construction Act and Federal Aid for a new Children's Building.
Also, discussion held as to State Aid and a report was read from Mrs. H. Shippen Goodhue, Sec. Bd.
of Library Commissioners. To meet the standards, an annual report will be sent in very soon.
It was explained that the mount asked for on the 1966 Budget is very necessary so as to carry on
satisfactorily for pages for the coming year.
It was suggested that it should be settled as far as possible as to the vacant position and on Mr.
Pierce's Motion to approve the changes as suggested and was SO VOTED the following:
1. Mrs. Gibbs to be released from Y.P.R. and put in as a cataloger no increase as no more money is
provided.
2. Mrs. Cook who has been her assistant for nearly 5 years be put in as Librarian of Y.P.R. with an
increase to start at the first step in Group 9. Also try to establish a new position-Asst. to Head of
Circulation for Mrs. Hall. (Impossible must have new ordinance) VOTED to close at 12 Noon day
before Christmas.

Dear Miss Kline:
It is reluctantly and with deep regret that the Board of Trustees accepts your resignation effective
January 1, 1966. We, the Trustees have entered the following resolution in the Record Book for all
to see.
WHEREAS Miss Anitra F. Kline has been Assistant Head Librarian from April 6, 1953 until
December 31, 1965.
The Trustees wish to express their deep appreciation for her faithfulness in executing
all duties pertaining to her position in outstanding manner.
WHEREAS these duties included making up all the finance sheets as well as acting Head Librarian
in Mrs. Brown's absence.
WHEREAS We wish to thank her for her many hours of devoted, unselfish work, her inspiration to
those who love books, and her quiet courtesy to all. We hope that in her leisure time
she will cominue to visit the library and to give us the benefit of her great experience.
