Thursday June 17, 1965 4 P.M.
The meeting was held at the Library on the above date. In attendance were Mrs. Conrad, presiding,
Miss StandIcy, Mrs. Bryant, Mr. Pierce, Mr. Toomey, Mr. Hyde and Mr. Maeser.
It was moved with the organization of the Board. Miss Standley nominated Mrs. Conrad as
Chairman, Mr. Hyde seconded the motion and by ballot Mrs. Conrad was unanimously reelected
Chairman. Mrs. Bryant was unanimously reelected Secretary. Committees will be appointed later.
Records of the previous meeting and Finance Sheets after study, were approved.
Long discussion was held of the $923 due on the Budget to be added to State Aid of $9027. Mr.
Tooracy and Mrs. Conrad will consult with the Mayor.
Voted to purchase for the Children's Room a new desk. Contract to be given to John E. Sjostrom Co.
of philadelphia, Penn. Mrs. Rachel Hooper of Chestnut Hill is Consultant. Installed ready for use is
$1185. Delivery probably will be around 100 days.
After long discussion as to the Custodians it was left to give them a register to sign in and out. Mr.
Toomey will talk to them.
VOTED to paint old Y.P.R. Room with at least one coat of paint.
VOTED vacation at the request of Mr. Edward White for a 19 day European tour. After long
discussion it was granted with the definite understanding that this must not establish a precedent.
Long discussion of Trust Funds and Mr. Hyde and Mr. Pierce reported the 1964 results, reports to
be made to all Trustees.
VOTED to close Sat. July 3, 9-12.
VOTED to close Sept 23. from 9 - 2 so as to entertain the North Shore Library Club at this Library.
Discussion of Economic Opportunity Act of 1964. All felt it would have to be considered.
