THURSDAY MAY 7, 1964
At a Special meeting called by Mr. Tooracy in the absence of Mrs. Conrad was to discuss the
possibilities of purchasing a used bookmobile. Present were Mrs. Bryant, Mr. Tooracy, Mr. Maeser,
and Mr. Brown.
Mr. Robert Lyons, sales representative of Gerstenslager Co, had for sale a 1961-P1600 body on a
PS00 Ford; duel wheels, profane gas heaters, been 14,000 miles and owned by McGraw Hill who
wants $6000 for it. It has a special built bookmobile body and many other attractions. It is located
in Princeton, N.J.
After long discussion: Mr. Barman explaining in detail of the conditions of our existing bookmobile,
needing more repairs and entirely outgrowing itself, Mr. Lyons explained the Gerstenslager unit in
detail. It was decided to have Mr. Lyons bring this unit to Beverly for all Trustees to view, at the
expense oftbe Trustees. Also suggested that a mechanic inspect it to know the mechanical condition.
The time set for this viewing was Sat. May 9, at lo'clock. The offer for it to McGraw was $5500. Mr.
Lyons did say he would try to locate a buyer for our unit.
Mr. Lyons was not able to carry this viewing out because of a few difficulties he met when he arrived
in Princeton, N.J. It will be brought to Beverly in the very near future. May 18 - '19.
