Thursday, January 18, 1962 4 P.M.
The regular meeting of the Trustees was held at the Library on the above date. Those in attendance
were Mrs. Conrad, presiding, Miss StandIcy, Mrs. Bryant, Mr. Lancaster, Mr. Hyde and Mr. Cagan.
The records of the previous meeting were approved as read, as were the Finance Sheets giving the
balances for 1961.
As Mr. Tooracy could not be present he left for administration: The from door at the Farms needs
attention, to be attended to by Mrs. Conrad, also the iron work at the Farms is in bad condition and
he will attend to it.
The circulation and reports of departmere heads were read and approved.
After explaining in detail as to the 6 weeks absence, do to illness of Mrs. Dillon, bookmobile h'brarian,
it was agreed to get a statement from her husband as to her plans for returning in the near future, as
her part-time assistant resigned. The bookmobile has been staffed by inexperienced help.
After the Farms report was read it was VOTED to change the hours at the Branch, as of Feb. 1 to
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 10-5:30; Wednesday 1-8:30; Saturday9-12. As Mrs. Presson
is resigning it was VOTED, if she would stay, to increase her hourly pay to $1.50 per hour. (She has
decided to leave, but Mrs. Pesce will be glad to work her time)
Mrs. Conrad read the Will of Walter S. Flint. $2000 will come to the Library upon the decease of
Mrs. Flint. Will herein on file.
A letter from the Planning Board announced that there would be a meeting Thursday, Jan. 18 at 8
P.M. Mr. Lancaster will attend.
Because of a petition of 30 students requesting that the Youth Room remain open Friday evenings
until 8:30 it was VOTED to extend the 6 o'clock closing to 8: 30.
Mrs. Conrad reported as to the Herman Miller chairs that come in assorted colors. As the Mayor
assured Mr. Toomey that he would allow $500 in the budget for furniture, at Mr. Cagan's motion it
was VOTED to purchase 32 chairs. The list price is $29 per chair but with the discount it would he
$17 plus delivery charges. Anything over the $500 would he taken care of elsewhere.
Mrs. Conrad is working on the Annual Report and it will be read at the next meeting.
