1961-08-08 City of Beverly, Massachusetts Public Meeting Minutes Board: Library Trustees Subcommittee: Date: 08/08/1961 Place: Beverly Public Library Board members present: Louisa V. Conrad, Dorothy C. Cook, Frank P. Hyde, Bruce Lancaster, Frederick H. Pierce, Carolyn F. Standley, and Thomas J. Toomey Board members absent: Russell P. Brown, Anne P. Bryant, and Saul J. Cagan Others present: Recorder: Marion A. Brown Tuesday, August 8, 1961 4 P.M. A special meeting was called on the above date to discuss the preliminary report and first draft of the Master Plan of Adams, Howard and Greeley. Present were Mrs. Conrad, Miss Standley, Mr. Lancaster, Mr. Hyde, Mr. Pierce and Mr. Toomey. The proposed first draft of the library portion of Community facilities and Capitol budget report of Adams, Howard and Greeley was discussed at length, after which it was decided to make some changes here in on file. As Mrs. Elizabeth Nevers is resigning tiom the bookmobile position as of Sept. 1. it was agreed to send her a note of regret and thanks. Because Mrs. Mary Nelson who has been Mrs. Nevers assistant, feels that it is far too much for her to operate the bookmobile it was left for the librarian to try to obtain a full-time person at once and to call a special meeting if necessary. Mrs. Conrad felt that new libraries such as Wellesley, Simmons and Roslindale should be inspected for ideas. The Committee thought by the latter part of Sept. would be satisfactory. Marion A. Brown Clerk
