At the meeting this evening the offer of Mr. B. O. Peirce for the volumes of the Encyclopedia
Britannica were accepted. The following list of Magazines for the coming year was adopted.
Harpers, Scribner, Atlantic, two copies each, North American Review, Gardener' s Monthly, Cornhill,
Popular Science Monthly, Temple Bar, Art Amateur, Eclectic and Brentano's one copy each. A draft
for Five Hundred Dollars for balance of appropriation was made on the Selectmen.
It was also voted not to purchase a set of Government reports on the Pacific Railway Survey of Mr.
Warren Prince.
After a long discussion in regard to the placing on the walls the portrait of Miss Quiner the board
adjourned without definite action in the matter.
