The Board reviewed the minutes of the October 5, 1999 meeting. A change in wording was made
in paragraph regarding old business. It should read 'approve request' not 'accept request'. It was
also noted that a final draft of Environmental Tobacco Smoke Regulation be attached to the
October Minutes.
New Business
A letter was received from Fr. Hughes, pastor of St. Mary's Church, requesting variance from
smoking regulation, at their Bingo Games, until end of fiscal year. The letter arrived too late for
this meeting's agenda. The Board requested we notify Fr. Hughes that St. Mary's Bingo must
comply until hearing at December 16, 1999 meeting.
Paul Cotter is the city's new Animal Control Officer. It was suggested that Paul be invited a to
future meeting. The Board would like to meet Mr. Cotter and discuss his role as Inspector of
Animals.
Mr. Burke and Mr. Scully said that the budget process would be starting within the next few
months. Chairman Carbone suggests that members and staff begin discussing the matter at the
January meeting.
Mr. Burke presented the Board with a cost proposal from Med-Safe Inc., for compliance review
of the dental clinic. A substantial amount of the cost would be absorbed by Med-Safe and
BENCO (Dental Supply). The department would need to pay $495.00. The Board supported the
decision to move forward with proposal.
