At a meeting of the Trustees of the Public Library appointed to meet on Saturday Evening February
21st 1857.
Present Messrs. Haddock, Endicott & Peirce, with the Librarian Mr. was appointed
chairman.
Mr. Endicott presented a report upon the subscription list which was accepted and placed on
file.
The Librarian reported the amount of fines collected together with amount received from sale of
catalogues and also his account of expenses all which was accepted & the balance on hand ordered
to be deposited with the Treasurer.
The Librarian announced the reception of a donation of nine volumes of books from A.
Torrey, M.D.
On motion of Mr. Peirce it was voted
That the thanks of the board be presented to Dr. Torrey for his donation.
On motion of Mr. Endicott
It was resolved that Dr. Boyden & Mr. Wm. H. Lovett be appointed with the Secretary & Librarian
a committee to examine the Library and report upon its condition at the next meeting of the Board.
Voted to adjourn to meet on Saturday evening next at 7 ½ o'clock.
