Saturday Evening June 7th 1856
Meeting of the Board according to adjournment Messrs. Endicott, Haddock & Peirce were
present. Mr. Endicott was appointed chairman. Mr. Davis had been expected to be present at the
meeting. In consequence of his absence the matters relating to the Office of Librarian were postponed
still further with the expectation of receiving some more definite communication from him.
Mr. Haddock reported that the catalogue which he had been preparing was nearly completed
but that the changes which had been made in the Library had made it necessary to make a
corresponding addition or interpolations in the catalogue.
In consideration of the difficulty of procuring a sufficient number of manuscript catalogues
to answer the demands of the applicants for books the inquiry was proposed whether it might not be
expedient to have an abbreviated catalogue printed for distribution. This was laid over for
consideration.
