1915-27-11 City of Beverly, Massachusetts Public Meeting Minutes Board: Library Trustees Subcommittee: Date: 11/27/1915 Place: Beverly Public Library Board members present: William R. Driver, Louis H. Baker, Charles L. Dodge, Joseph C. Kilham, Katharine P. Loring, Elizabeth P. Sohier, Louis D. Webber, and George E. Woodberry Board members absent: Lawrence A. Ford Others present: Recorder: Louis H. Baker A meeting of the Trustees of the Beverly Public Library was held on Saturday the 27t'' day of November 1915, at 3:30 o'clock p.m. There were present of the Trustees, Mr. Driver, Miss Loring, Miss Sohier, Messrs. Kilham, Webber, Woodberry and Baker. The records of the last meeting were read and approved. The Committee on Circulation recommended the purchase of 19 titles and reported gifts of pamphlets, magazines and books from Miss Swazey, Mr. Robert Bancroft, Mrs. Phillips and Miss Anna Foster (Clark Est.) On motion it was Voted: That the recommendation of the Committee on Circulation with respect to 19 titles be adopted and that the thanks of the Trustees be extended to those who have made gifts The Finance Committee presented a report of the financial condition to Dec. 1 On motion it was Voted: That the Committee on Administration take up the matter of the use of the Library by classes of children from the Schools and report their action at the next meeting. (Miss Loring is to act on the Committee in this matter in place of Miss Sohier) The resignation of Miss Ethel L. Dodge as an Assistant Librarian was presented and on motion it was Voted: That the resignation of Miss Ethel L. Dodge be accepted with great regret. A letter was read from Rev. Mr. Bulkeley in regard to his removal from Beverly and his consequent inability to act further as a Trustee, and on motion it was Voted: That the Secretary express to Mr. Bulkeley the great regret of the Board at losing him from its membership. On motion it was Voted: That the salary of Miss Sinnecko as an assistant be increase to $40 per month from Jany 1 next. On motion it was Voted to adjourn Adjourned Attest: Louis H. Baker, Secretary
