A meeting of the Trustees of the Beverly Public Library was duly held on Saturday the 30th
day of October, 1915, at 3:30 o'clock p.m.
There were present of the Trustees: Mr. Driver, Miss Loring, Miss Sohier, Mr. Webber, Mr.
Baker.
The records of the last meeting were read and approved.
The Committee on Circulation recommended the purchase of 50 titles and reported the gift
of valuable pamphlets by Prof. C. L. Jackson, whereupon on motion it was
Voted:
That the recommendation of the Committee on Circulation with reference to 50 titles be
adopted and that the thanks of the Trustees be extended to Prof. Jackson for his gift.
On motion it was
Voted:
That the acceptance of the loan of two paintings of Sorrento by Mr. Robert Hale Bancroft
be with the distinct understanding that the paintings are not an absolute gift to the Library but are
subject to the call of Mr. Bancroft or of the legal representatives of his Estate; and that the Secretary
be and is hereby directed to prepare and transmit to Mr. Bancroft an acceptance of the loan
embodying the above mentioned understanding.
The Finance Committee made a report of the financial condition of the Library to Nov. 1 st.
On motion it was
Voted:
That the annual report be prepared by the Secretary.
On motion it was
Voted to adjourn

two paintings of Sorrento by A. La Volpe, which you have kindly loaned to the Library and caused
to be hung upon its walls.
In accepting these pictures, the Trustees wish to state that they are received with the distinct
understanding that they are not absolute gifts to the Library, but are loaned subject to your call or
that of the legal representatives of your estate.
