1915-25-09 City of Beverly, Massachusetts Public Meeting Minutes Board: Library Trustees Subcommittee: Date: 09/25/1915 Place: Beverly Public Library Board members present: William R. Driver, Joseph C. Kilham, Katharine P. Loring, Elizabeth P. Sohier, and Louis D. Webber Board members absent: Louis H. Baker, Rev. Benjamin R. Bulkeley, Charles L. Dodge, and George E. Woodberry Others present: Recorder: Louis D. Webber A meeting of the Trustees of the Beverly Public Library was duly held on Saturday the 25th day of September, 1915. There were present of the Trustees: Mr. Driver, Miss Loring, Miss Sohier, Messrs. Kilham and Webber. In the absence of the Secretary, Mr. Webber was chosen Secretary pro tem. The records of the meeting of July 31 st were read and approved. The Finance Committee presented a report of the financial condition of the Library to Oct. 1 st. The Committee on Circulation recommended the purchase of 50 titles and reported the receipt of two titles as gifts. Whereupon, on motion it was: Voted: That the recommendation of the Committee on Circulation be adopted with reference to 50 titles and that the thanks of the Trustees be extended to those who have made gifts. On motion it was Voted: That the list of magazines recommended for ensuing year by the Committee on Circulation be accepted. On motion it was Voted: To approve the employment of Miss Wiggin as Assistant for ten months from Sept. 13, 1915, at a salary of $62.50 per month. The Committee on Branches reported the discontinuance of the deposit at the North Beverly Parish House with the exception of the magazines which are to be continued there until January 1 st, 1916. On motion it was voted: To approve the employment of Miss Fannie A. Sinnicks as assistant at a salary of $400 per year from Sept. 13, 1915. On motion it was Voted: To refer the organization of the Library to a committee consisting of Mr. Webbet, Miss Loring, Miss Sohier and Mr. Baker. On motion it was Voted: To accept with thanks, the offer of Mr. Robert Bancroft to the loan of two paintings. On motion it was Voted to adjourn Adjourned Attest Louis D. Webber Secretary pro tem
