A special meeting of the Trustees of the Beverly Public Library was duly held at the Library
on Saturday the 6th day of March 1915, at 3:15 o'clock pm.
There were present of the Trustees: Messrs. Driver, Bulkeley, Webber and Baker.
The meeting was called to act upon the suggestion of the Mayor that the Trustees should
name one of their number for appointment as a member of the Commission to arrange for the
construction of a Library at Beverly Farms.
Written ballot being had, for votes, the total number cast, were in favor of Miss Katharine
P. Loring who thereupon declared duly elected as the nominee of the Trustees to serve on said
Commission.
On motion it was
Voted:
That Rev. Mrs. Tillinghost be granted the use of the Library hall for a meeting on the Negro
question, it being understood that the address would be non-partisan, that no admittance fee would
be charged and that the expense of lighting, etc. should we paid by Mrs. Tillinghost
