1891-06-06 City of Beverly, Massachusetts Public Meeting Minutes Board: Library Trustees Subcommittee: Date: 06/06/1891 Place: Beverly Public Library Board members present: Joseph D. Tuck, R.ev. Daniel D. Addison, Charles L. Dodge, Edward L. Giddings, and George E. Woodberry Board members absent: George A. Galloupe Others present: Recorder: Charles L. Dodge Beverly June 6th 1891 At the regular meeting of the Trustees this evening the following business was transacted. All present but Mr. Galloupe. The meeting was called to order by the chairman. Mr. Woodberry presented a plan for cataloguing books. After some discussion as to its merits etc. On motion of Mr. Giddings, it was Voted That it be adopted and that the same committee Messrs. Woodberry and Addison be authorized to carry out this plan. On motion of Mr. Woodberry, it was Voted that the arrangement of the books of reference to be placed upon the shelves in the reading room be left to a committee of 3 consisting of Messrs. Tuck, Woodberry and Giddings. On motion of Mr. Giddings, it was Voted That in pursuance of the report of the committee to whom was referred the subject of distribution of books at Beverly Farms, that they be authorized to complete the arrangements in conformity with their report. The subject of procuring missing numbers of magazines as presented by Mr. Woodberry was considered but no action was taken the memo ... etc. was left with the librarian. The subject of allowing magazines to go into circulation was also considered but no action was taken. On motion of Mr. Giddings, it was Voted to adjourn till Wednesday evening June 10th Charles L.
