1891-18-04 City of Beverly, Massachusetts Public Meeting Minutes Board: Library Trustees Subcommittee: Date: 04/18/1891 Place: Beverly Public Library Board members present: Joseph D. Tuck, Charles L. Dodge, George A. Galloupe, and George E. Woodberry Board members absent: Rev. Daniel D. Addison, and Edward L. Giddings Others present: Recorder: Charles L. Dodge Beverly April 18th 1891 The Trustees held a meeting this evening. Messrs. Tuck, Woodberry, Galloupe and Dodge present. The meeting was called to order by the chairman and the records of the previous meeting were read and approved. On motion of Mr. Giddings, it was Voted To proceed to ballot for Treasurer and Mr. Tuck was elected. On motion of Mr. Woodberry, it was Voted The room committee be authorized to put up two additional stacks in the library rooms in order to provide for the increase of volumes. On motion of Mr. Woodberry, it was Voted The room committee be authorized to make such purchases of tables and chairs as may be required, and the shelves for the books of reference giving the public increased accommodations in the reading room. On motion of Mr. Woodberry, it was Voted That the Librarian be instructed that whenever a book is returned from a house infected with scarlet fever, the librarian shall cause it to be burned forthwith but at her discretion she may retain any volume and refer the question of its disposal to the Trustees. On motion of Mr. Galloupe, it was Voted That the further regular meetings be held on the first Saturday evening in each month at 8 o'clock. On motion of Mr. Galloupe, it was Voted The meeting do now adjourn. There being no further business the meeting was adjourned. Charles L. Dodge Secretary
