1891-28-03 City of Beverly, Massachusetts Public Meeting Minutes Board: Library Trustees Subcommittee: Date: 03/28/1891 Place: Beverly Public Library Board members present: Joseph D. Tuck, Rev. Daniel D. Addison, Charles L. Dodge, George A. Galloupe, and Edward L. Giddings Board members absent: George E. Woodberry Others present: Recorder: Charles L. Dodge Beverly March 28th 1891 The Trustees of the Beverly public library met as per adjournment. Messrs. Tuck, Girldines, Addison, Galloupe and Dodge present. The meeting was called to order by the chairman Mr. Tuck. The records of the previous meeting was read and approve& On motion of Mr. Giddings, it was Voted That the room committee consider the subject of obtaining more room for the Library by securing if possible the room in the rear of the Library. Also to consider the expediency of moving and so arranging the Librarian' s counter as to secure additional space in the reading room. Voted That the secretary be requested to correspond with Mr. Hooper A. Appleton inviting him to be present at the next meeting of the trustees in order to ascertain what plan or proposition he would suggest with reference to establishing a branch Library at Centerville. On motion of Mr. Giddings, it was Voted That the President and Secretary be requested to ask at the adjourned town meeting for authority to choose a Treasurer from their own members in accordance with Sec. Chap. 304 Acts of 1888. There being no further business the meeting was adjourned till Saturday Evening April 4th. Charles L. Dodge Secretary
